Blogging About Blogging

My wife Jennifer and I have come to a conclusion. We should be more than just partners in marriage (LOL). We have been reading some great articles about personal finance. Actually we were reading different articles but they both pretty much were saying the same thing. They both mentioned that having a side hustle is a good way to have more financial success maybe even financial freedom….

Getting Started

We always thought about it so it is nothing new to us. I have been blogging on and off for several years and we both use social media (She is better at it then me). What we want to do is take our experiences and help others who in the same situation as we are.

It all started when I saw a great Entrepreneur article by Jeff Rose on how Michelle Schroeder-Gardender was able to start a blog on something she was experienced at and passionate about. It tells her story about how she just really wanted to make a little extra money to pay off her student debt. It came to a point where she and her husband were able to quit their jobs, sell their home and travel the country in an RV while working on her blog. At the time of this writing it is grossing about 100,000 dollars per month. quite amazing for something that started as a side gig…..

The take away here is that all you really have to do is get started. You never know what is going to happen. Which leads me to my next point….

To Get Started it Helps to See How Others Are Doing it

So we took Michelle’s advice and signed up for her 7-Day Free Blogging Course . I am glad I did. It shows just how much a community bloggers are. In the course, it refers to another blogger, Ruth Soukup , who helps you organize your blog with a FREE Blog Structure Blueprint planning tool.

I have received a couple of messages from Ruth since I signed up and she is quite inspiring. Reading her story made me think I was reading my own life story and I realized that I am almost there! From health issues, career missteps, financial decisions, etc it reinforced my belief that there is no such thing as failure, only lessons taught 🙂 I can’t wait to be part of this community.

So we are going to take the knowledge we have researched and get started. It may be an expansion of this blog or it may be an entirely new one. Either way we can’t wait to get started!
